AEGPL Invites Stakeholders to Workshop on Gaseous Fuel Vehicle Regulations

On behalf of event organizer Clean Fuels Consulting, we would like to invite interested stakeholders to attend the AEGPL supported the Critical Issues Workshop, "Poli-techs: Creating a Standars and Regulatory Roadmap for Gaseious Fuel Vehicles."

Standards and regulations are the stabilizing factors in commercialization: providing for safer, more reliable, less costly equipment that can be made for and sold in world markets. While economics is the most important factor in selling alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs) and building the complimentary fuelling infrastructures, people involved in the AFV commercialization process – policy makers, advocates and entrepreneurs selling cleaner, non-petroleum fuels and technologies -- understand the critical role played by having the right balance of standards and regulations in place.

A Standards & Regulatory Roadmap. The workshop provides a unique overview in simple but not simplistic terms of a very complex gaseous fuel vehicle regulatory environment. As with other Critical Issues Workshops, based upon input from the participants – speakers and the audience -- we will create the foundation for a strategic ‘Roadmap’ that summarizes the issues, discussion and provides recommendations for further action.

Speakers and topics for this workshop include:

  • The European Legislative & Regulatory Landscape for Clean Fuels, Philip Lowe, Director General for Energy, European Commission.
  • Worldwide Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations: The United Nations Perspective, André Rijnders, Sr. Engineer, Vehicle Standards Development, Dutch Ministry of Transport and Chairman of the Informal Group on Gaseous Fuelled Vehicles (GFV) within the UNECE Group of Experts on Pollution & Energy
  • Development & Impact of CEN Standards on Gaseous Fuel Vehicles & Stations,, Salvatore Piccolo, Assogasliquidi/Federchimica, and Chairman of CEN TC286/WG6)
  • Critical Issues for Emissions Regulations for Gaseous Fuel Vehicles, Nikolaus Steininger, Automotive Industry Unit, DG Enterprise and Industry, European Commission
  • LPG vehicles & NGVs: Synergies & Separations in Standards & Regulations, Alexander Stöhr, Technical Manager, German LPG Association
  • Potential for Renewable LPG: Science, Economics and Politics, Petri Lindqvist, Development Manager, Neste Oil, Oil and Renewable Products
  • On the Sea with LPG, Rene Sejer Laursen, Promotion Manager, MAN Turbo & Diesel
